YOUR FILES. YOUR DEVICE.

Your files are yours.
That doesn’t change here.

Localfile processes selected files locally, inside your browser. We do not upload your files for conversion, store them on a server, or have access to their contents through the conversion tools.

What stays on your device

Your file contents, filenames, conversion settings, and results are handled in this tab. Files are held temporarily in browser memory while you work. Clearing the file list releases references; workers and temporary download URLs are cleaned up after use. Your browser controls when memory is reclaimed. Closing the tab releases the application session.

What your browser downloads

The website downloads application code and conversion libraries from this site. The offline cache may keep this code so you can reuse tools without a connection. It never intentionally caches your selected files or conversion results.

Website requests and hosting

Our hosting provider receives ordinary requests to load the website, including network information such as your IP address and browser details. Those requests do not include the files you select. This private preview may require platform access to open the site; the conversion tools themselves have no account or signup.

Preferences and analytics

We store your light or dark theme preference in your browser. No analytics or advertising scripts are installed. Any future analytics must never capture filenames, file contents, editor text, or conversion output. Advertising integrations must preserve this promise.

Untrusted files

HTML and SVG are sanitized. Document previews block scripts and external resources. Archive extraction checks paths, entry counts, and expanded sizes. Office macros are never executed. Safety limits may reject a file even when its format is supported.

Your downloads

Downloaded files stay wherever you save them on your device. We cannot delete those files for you. For sensitive documents, use a browser and device you trust.
